Card Synchronicities and Guides

Sara Vatore

When I pulled the card invitation for May and looked at the image, my whole body lit up with recognition.

The fiery sea creature (part horse, part dragon, part something entirely other) feels like an embodiment of one of my own guides, a wise original ancestor.

A masculine water being, ancient and powerful, who lives in the deepest folds of the ocean. His energy is volcanic, Atlantean, fluid yet fierce.

He’s shown up for me countless times as a protector and wisdom keeper, especially when I am doing hands-on healing work. He often reveals himself to me as an Athlantan king with a crown and staff, who then merges with the fires of the deep ocean. However, when I look at this image I am reminded of this dimension/version/form of him: a wild fiery sea horse.

Riding with him is the mermaid, a luminous feminine presence that instantly calls to mind Miriam, one of my most beloved guides. In some Jewish folklore, Miriam (Moses’ sister) is said to have parted the red sea with her healing hands. To me, she reveals herself to me always in the ocean and cosmos. A quantum healer, a song weaver, a goddess of the ocean, a priestess of the in-between.

Together, these guides, my invisibles, help me anchor energy, move emotion, open portals, and remember who I am. And they don’t just show up during ceremonial work or client sessions. They’re with me when I’m parenting. When I’m walking in the woods. When I’m dancing. When I’m dreaming. When I’m seeking or simply being.

To see both of these energies coexisting in one image, blended, spiraling, mid-threshold, felt like such a potent confirmation. Almost like an amplified nudge to this invitation. That yes, this is important. This right here.

This is not abstract for me. It’s alive.

I work with these guides all the time. In my hands. In the sessions I offer. In the parenting moments when I feel lost. In the creative process. In my dreams. They are real. They are with me.

And you have invisibles too.

Are you paying attention?
