seasonal shifts require claiming space

Sara Vatore

Something shifted in the air this weekend. Can you feel it? September always brings in transition energy for me, starting to signal that in-between space of the next turn of the wheel.

The crispness of the air and the intensity wind seems to be moving something significant. Clearing away stuckness and stickiness that has been hanging around over the last few weeks.

In the Jewish Calendar we just celebrated a new year this past weekend. A potent space of transition, where we are supported in returning back to self, for inner reflection and contemplation and deep visioning for the year to come. To spend time connecting to what is important, what we desire and how we want to show up in the world.

This invitation to take stock, requires slowing down and intentionality at a time that is also asking me to embrace increased activity. Holding and being with the paradox of both.

As I’ve been navigating the fiery activity of new beginnings on many levels recently (boys returning to school and homeschool schedules, home responsibilities, work, activities, new opportunities), I could/can feel some feelings of overload start to creep in.

These sensations are always the reminder for me of the importance of doubling down on claiming and protecting my spaces, in order to sense my home frequency and baseline.

CREATING SPACE

In this space, I can find and sense my self.

In this space, my essence gets to speak and express.

In this space, I can orient to what I want and what I need.

As I am going about my day, when I start to feel irritation, aggravation, or frustration, I know that this is a signal for me that it is time to prioritize taking some space.

With the increase in activities, responsibilities and exciting energetic buzz this month, I have been working with the question: “What needs tending to in THIS moment?”

This reflection is helping me to invite in kindness and gentleness with myself, as I am holding and coordinating all of the pieces.

May we infuse patience and tenderness into the unfolding as we navigate transitional in-between spaces.

XO Sara
