Wisdom Keepers: Dimensions of Wilka Roig
Sara Vatore
In this installment of the Wisdom Keepers series, I am joined by Wilka Roig, a transpersonal psychologist, death doula, activist, educator, and multidimensional being whose work explores death, grief, dreams, transition, and the many layers of the human experience. Years ago, I took Wilka’s Creative Dreamwork training, an experience that became a meaningful marker in my own journey and profoundly expanded the way I understood dreams, consciousness, and the multidimensional nature of our experience.
Wilka takes us through the seemingly different threads of her own life and the realization that none of them were ever truly separate. From creativity, music, photography, academia, and psychology to dreamwork, death, grief, and community care, each experience became preparation for what life would ask of her next. At the heart of her journey has been a growing willingness to release the need to feel prepared, trust life itself, and enter the unknown with curiosity.
Together, we explore the relationship between dream space and death space, and what these threshold experiences can teach us about letting go, meaning-making, and our innate capacity to accompany one another through change. Wilka shares how making room for conversations about mortality can bring us closer to what matters most, creating greater intimacy, belonging, gratitude, awe, and intention in the lives we are living right now. Rather than distancing us from life, acknowledging death can invite us more fully into it.
We also explore multidimensionality as a way of recognizing that our experiences, identities, dreams, memories, senses, intuition, and states of consciousness are continually informing one another. Wilka invites us to loosen our attachment to ourselves as fixed beings and instead notice the small ways we are dying, emerging, changing, and becoming every day.
In a moment when familiar systems and identities may feel increasingly unstable, perhaps the invitation is not to know more, but to become more curious about what is changing and what new possibilities are waiting to be discovered.
Inside this episode, we explore:
How the seemingly disconnected chapters of our lives can become preparation for what life asks of us next
Cultivating unconditional trust in life and becoming willing to enter what we do not yet know
The relationship between dream space, death space, and other thresholds of human experience
Why letting go and unlearning can sometimes reveal more than analyzing, controlling, or trying harder
What death doulas offer and the importance of reclaiming death and dying as human and communal experiences
How conversations about mortality can deepen intimacy, belonging, gratitude, joy, and connection to what matters
Exploring multidimensionality through dreams, intuition, memory, consciousness, the senses, and our capacity for meaning-making
Recognizing that we are continually changing rather than identifying ourselves as fixed versions of who we have been
Cultivating curiosity and noticing the small changes, endings, beginnings, and possibilities emerging every day
I hope you enjoy this installment of the Wisdom Keepers series.
