october invitation: hold your ground

Sara Vatore

Each month in 2025, I’ve pulled a card to offer a soul-centered invitation—a way for us to root deeper into our bodies, our inner knowing, and our connection to the divine within and around us.

What can we prioritize and focus on to access and amplify our vibrancy and our radiance, so that our divinity may shine through in all that we do and BE?

With the chaos of the world swirling, and the intensity of inner shifts many of us are navigating, this month’s invitation arrives as powerful medicine: Hold Your Ground.

This feels like such a timely and necessary message for this season.

The air is filled with transition and turbulence, both cosmic and earthly. Many of us are also navigating inner tumult: questioning ourselves, feeling pulled in multiple directions, and second-guessing what’s true.

The collective atmosphere is charged with competing narratives, distortions, and differences in perception. It can be hard to know which voices to trust, or even whether the information reaching us is accurate. This kind of complexity can generate unsteadiness in the body.

If you’re feeling off-kilter, out of sorts, or more activated these days, I see you.

In moments like this, it becomes all the more essential to return to our own center in order to know and understand our truth. When we fully embody our truth at the core of who we BE, we can then hold our ground in alignment as we move in life, no matter what spirals around us.

A true no is medicine. When we allow ourselves to honor it (especially when it whispers), we safeguard our inner flame and protect the sanctity of our own energy. Each time you acknowledge and respect your no, you create space for your true, ecstatic yes to emerge.

“Holding your ground” is not about rigidity or stubbornness. It is about connecting to yourself and your integrity. It is about aligning with what is deeply true in your body and soul, even when it is inconvenient and even when it risks disappointing others.

It can be uncomfortable to carry a perspective different from those around you, and even more so to speak up about it. This month asks you to practice holding both your own truth and the discomfort that may arise when others disagree, misunderstand or feel disappointed by your stance.

October is a reminder that your voice is needed. Your perspective is needed. Your embodied truth is needed.

So many of us, when overwhelmed, default into freeze or fawn. We numb out, appease the people around us, or agree with what doesn’t feel right just to smooth things over. There is no shame in that response, it is often how our nervous systems keep us safe in the environments we grew up in.

And yet, there are moments when we are called to show up differently and this month offers support for us to do just that. To root down into presence, steadiness, and clarity. To stand for ourselves and, by extension, for the collective.

When you “hold your ground” do you know what that feels like in your body? When you are aligned and embodied in your truth. What do you notice?

For me it feels like dropping into my feet and sensing a connection deep into the ground. My exhale guides downward into my low belly and pelvis, as my spine lengthens upward. My chest and head lift with ease. There is both weight and lightness in this posture, a rootness that allows expansion.

The imagery on this card is striking: a woman standing tall on a mountaintop embodying power, trust and knowing. She rests her hand on the nose of a giant, mystical creature—part dragon, part ox, with enormous horns curling upward. Behind her, a waterfall cascades. She is steady, grounded, and profoundly supported.

This image carries the energy of fierce protection and unseen support. When we choose to stand in our truth, we are not standing alone. Spirit, universe, and the hidden web of the divine hold us, even if no one else seems to.

The world needs each of us right now, embodied in our power, in our steadiness, in our truth.

The wisdom you carry, the gifts you bring, the stories you tell are medicine for the collective. When you voice them, they ripple outward mirroring, and modeling for others who may not yet know how to hold their own ground.

Sometimes your voice may repel others from your orbit. Current relationships may shift or fall away. Some people may not understand your stance. As painful as this change can be, what will remain around you will be more aligned. The space you create by holding firm in your truth becomes fertile ground for more authentic connections to emerge.

For October, I invite you to

✦ Practice speaking your truth, even in small ways. Start with low-stakes situations and let your body feel what it’s like to be in integrity.

✦ Notice the moments when you are tempted to override your inner no. Pause. Can you hear the whisper of truth? What small ways can you start to honor that voice?

✦ Reflect on where your yes wants to emerge once you’ve cleared space with your no.

✦ Root down into your sense of self and body when the outer world feels chaotic.

May October be a month where we feel the strength of our inner knowing.
Where we remember the unseen ways we are deeply protected.
Where our no becomes a doorway to our most resolute yes.
Where our ground becomes the place from which our radiance shines.

With love, steadiness, and fierce protection,
Sara
