endings are the compost for new beginnings

Sara Vatore

We often think of Spring being a time of new beginnings, birth and growth. Simultaneously there is a destruction and breakdown that happens before a birth, something has to break down becoming compost to nurture/encourage/bring about the new beginning. We tend to forget about this important aspect of the growth cycle.

Dancing with both the challenge and complexity of endings AND the excitement of what’s coming/what’s next can be a curious place to be.

I find myself playing with this particular paradox this month in reference to my in-person office. Recently Dave from Inspired Being and I learned that we would not be able to stay in our space in Belchertown.

For over a year and a half (20 months!) I have LOVED being a part of Inspired Being and seeing clients in this space. My work has LOVED emerging more deeply in this space. I have been so grateful to have such a beautiful place to retreat to for solo time and for my work. It has been a sanctuary for me to step back into my hands-on sessions after covid and get some SPACE from my family.

Initially finding out about the impending ending pinged a little bit. My concrete, indigent teenage part stamped her feet and had a bit of a tantrum. The office is so close to my house (7 minutes away). It is such a beautiful space. It has plenty of room. My clients love it. I can’t imagine being anywhere else.

And yet, at the same time there was a whisper inside, “Of course this will work out. Allow this to lead you to something new.”

So, I surrendered.

I texted My friend and colleague, Brenna Werme, asking if she knew of anyone looking to sublet space. She replied, “I mean, you can rent my space!”

Brenna is an amazing chiropractor with a beautiful space in Hadley. Could it be this easy? The first person I get an offer from feels so aligned?

I looked a bit more online, messaged another couple of people, and visited one other spot, all while getting more and more excited about the potential of seeing clients and offering workshops and healing events in Brenna’s space.

Yup, it gets to be this easy.

AND…

I am simultaneously being with my ending process in the Inspired Being space. As I write this I am here for my last 2 days. I’ve been seeing clients, dancing, crying and offering my gratitude and reverence for the time spent and the energetic gifts exchanged.

I get to fully be in my grief and closure process AND feel the bubbling anticipation of what is yet to come and the pull towards what is here for me now.

AND…What is emerging for me now?

I am so pleased to announce that starting in May I will be stepping into new adventures on Sundays and Mondays at Embodied Chiropractic in Hadley MA. I will be offering hands-on-healing Somatic Integration Sessions, 1-1 and couples MELT Method sessions, MELT classes and workshops and other small group healing events. I am now booking for May and June.

Email me if you are interested in exploring a session. Introductory sessions start at $135 for 70 minutes.

Since January I have offered a few MELT workshops and classes in the space and I am super excited to see what emerges for small group healing and other events/classes/workshops.

Our next MELT Method Class is on Saturday May 18th from 10:30-11:45am.

Stay tuned for more details on upcoming offerings and juicy embodied collaborations between Brenna and I!

Thank you for being here with me during all the seasons of the cycle!
