The Myth of Balance
Sara Vatore
As a Libra, I used to think balance was a fixed state I was supposed to reach.
Like if I just managed my time better, planned enough, found the right system…
Eventually I’d arrive at this harmonious place where everything felt evenly weighted.
Spoiler alert: That’s not how it works. 😅
Because real life isn’t linear. And real women aren’t spreadsheets.
I run two businesses
I hold space for clients.
I raise a family.
I cook meals, attend meetings, create content, lead retreats, homeschool, rest, connect, vision, recalibrate.
And I hold an entire inner world alongside it all.
Balance? It’s not a finish line.
It’s a living rhythm.
It shifts. It breathes. It demands presence.
What I’ve learned is that it’s not about doing all the things perfectly and equally.
It’s about building the capacity to hold what matters most—without collapsing, burning out, or self-abandoning.
It’s about knowing what season you’re in.
It’s about discerning where your energy wants to go.
It’s about honoring the real-time intelligence of your nervous system and your body.
Some weeks I’m in full-on leadership mode.
Other weeks I’m focused inward, tending to my home, my son, my creativity.
There’s no static equation that makes it all “balanced.”
But there is attunement.
There is choice.
There is embodiment.
This is the shift I support my clients in:
From chasing balance as a goal…to expanding capacity as a way of being.
Because when your system is regulated, resourced, and responsive, you can hold so much more without blowing out.
You get to honor the wholeness of your life without compromising yourself.
You don’t need more balance.
You need more space, in your body, your mind, your energy, to hold what’s real.
That’s exactly what The Spacious CEO Retreat was created for.
A 3-day, 2-night private retreat experience designed for women who hold a lot, in business, in life, in leadership, and need a place to reset without performing.
This isn’t a strategy weekend.
It’s a Somatic Recalibration.
A space to unwind, be supported, and reconnect with your natural rhythm, so you can return to your life and business clear, rested, and deeply resourced.
Come back into alignment with yourself.
Restore your nervous system’s capacity.
Reconnect with your purpose, through presence, not pressure.
